General Admission Requirements
The general admission requirements are as follows:
- Applicants must hold a general secondary certificate or its equivalent in order to gain admittance into university first level studies.
- For Master’s degrees, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 2.67 on a scale of 4.
- For PhD studies, master’s degree is related field is required.
Prospective students must fill out an application form- online or paper-based and submit. You can apply directly to the institution of your choice. Check with the institution to know about the procedure.
Applicants who are admitted will be notified by the institution or they can check the institution’s website after logging into the online admission system (if any).

Application form and fee
Educational certificates: Attested copy of secondary school certificate or its equivalent
The high school certificate from outside Kuwait must be authenticated and stamped by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the originating country as well as by the Kuwaiti Embassy in that country.
A description of the courses studied in the previous educational institutions
Copy of birth certificate
A copy of valid Civil ID
A copy of passport and a valid residency (for non-Kuwaitis)
Three passport-size photographs
Personal Statement: Demonstrate your interest and enthusiasm for the course chosen.
Letter of Recommendation: At least two letter of recommendation. It should come from your professor or teacher and can also be from your employer.
Updated CV: The CV should include personal information, educational history, accomplishments, honors and awards-professional and academic, references, professional experience (if any), and extra-curricular activities.
English language certificate: TOEFL
Interview (for some faculties)
Some institutions of higher learning in Kuwait conduct aptitude test for admission, or English and mathematics proficiency test. Check with the institution you’re applying to.
