Choosing the Right Programme in Kuwait
While selecting a course to study in Kuwait, students must follow certain steps. Know the steps of choosing the right course to study in Kuwait-
Step 1: Find your Goals
Decide your aims and goals, what you want to do, why you want to study abroad and its scope. Decide the course you wish to take up in accordance with your goals.
Step 2: Research
Search the institution offering the course you want to go for. Check their respective websites. Know the admission requirements, eligibility criteria, course fees, and other necessary information.
General Admission Requirements
The academic requirements vary depending on the institution and level of education. The entry requirements of the institutions vary, so read the course information on their website. The general admission requirements for different levels of study in Kuwait are:
- Applicants must hold a general secondary certificate or its equivalent in order to gain admittance into university first level studies.
- For Master’s degrees, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 2.67 on a scale of 4.
- For PhD studies, master’s degree is related field is required.
English Language Requirement
To apply to a higher education institution in Kuwait, an English language proficiency test is required.
TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language) or
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score must be submitted.

Step 4: Apply for Scholarship and Visa
Once you get the confirmation letter from the institution you have applied to, apply for
student visa (if required).
If you are eligible for scholarship, apply for it. To receive a scholarship, applicant must be selected to study in Kuwait by the applicant’s government or by an educational institution in Kuwait.
Government Scholarships: The Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait offers a range of scholarships to Kuwaiti students. To apply for such scholarships, follow the instructions given on the Ministry of Higher Education website. To get the scholarship, applicants must provide educational certificates in English or Arabic, or translated in one of these languages and authenticated. Additionally, it must be attested by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of External Affairs and the embassy of Kuwait in the applicant’s country.
University Scholarships: Kuwait University and other institutions of higher learning in Kuwait offer scholarships to students. Check with the concerned university.
