Academic Grading System in Kuwait
There are different grading systems adopted by different countries to evaluate the academic performance of students on common scale. The Ministry of Kuwait has set the regulations governing evaluation and examination so that there is an accurate guide to assist in assessing students and facilitating evaluation process.
Kuwait employs a four-point academic grading system and percentages. The grading system that is generally followed in the country is as follows: Grade | Scale

3.00 | B | 84-86 | A “B” is a representation of the student being active in class, demonstrating leadership qualities. |

2.00 | C | 74-76 | A “C” is denotes satisfactory performance, where the student has met the minimum standard for passing the course. |
1.70 | C- | 70-73 | AUK does not award the grade “C-” in its courses. |
1.30 | D | | AUK does not award the grade “D ” in its courses. |
1.00 | D | 64-66 | A “D” implies that a student has limited understanding of the course and
does not display any leadership quality. It is a just a passing grade
for some of the General Education courses not necessary for the major. |
0.70 | D- | 60-63 | AUK does not award the grade “D-” in its courses. |
0.00 | F | 0-59 | An “F” represents a failing grade. |
0.00 | FN | 0-59 | This grade is used only by the Intensive English Program to imply failure for non-attendance. |

- AU Audit = No credit
- P = Pass (for Pass/No Pass option only)
- NP = No Pass (for Pass/No Pass option only)
